Lechon kawali did the job. The tinolang manok was a bit too bland and soupy for my liking; I prefer mine with a strong flavor, especially patis (fish sauce). Then again, I think the restaurant probably toned it down to make it more suitable for the non-Filipino palate. I was actually surprised to see several non-Filipino diners in the restaurant. I’ve found that, especially in Vancouver, Filipino restaurants tend to cater to the local Filipino community. It was nice to see a Filipino restaurant with a mix of diners.
That being said, as someone who grew up eating Filipino food, this restaurant was just okay. I think this place is a good option if you’re new to Filipino cuisine. I’d come back to try their take on other dishes.
